Welcome to
Waverider magazine! This new publication
has been created with our local beachside
community in mind. Our mission for the
Waverider is to inform and encourage our
local community to support and utilize local
business.
I am sure you have heard it said that small business is the driver of the local economy.
This is still true, and given the challenging times we find ourselves in, small
business is even more important than ever. The revenues received by our local
businesses create a significant impact in the local economy. Every $100.00
spent in a locally owned and operated business can have an overall impact of up
to $500.00 in the local economy. That’s the benefit of spending locally, when the
dollars stay in our community and are re-spent in our local economy, it allows
small businesses to be stronger and more vibrant than they may otherwise be.
Our goal with Waverider is to provide more awareness to our residents of the
local businesses serving our area and encourage you to use them whenever
possible. As you page through the Waverider, you will find informative articles
from our contributing authors that we trust will be relevant and informative.
Our content will rotate regularly to include other areas of interest to families
and residents as well as advertising from businesses that service our area. This
is your publication and we welcome your input.
The response we have experienced leading up to our first issue was been amazing
and we expect the momentum to build. We have
spoken with dozens of business owners and residents who have expressed their
appreciation for what we are doing with the Waverider. As Waverider continues
to grow, we expect it to have a significant impact in helping our locally owned and
operated businesses find new customers, as well as encouraging our residents to
utilize what is available to them here in their own back yard!
The Waverider will come to your mailbox six times a year, and I know that
you will find something valuable in each issue.
